Help get out the vote for the NY Presidential Primary!

All eyes are on New York State as the host of the next big presidential primary election on April 19 and candidates are competing hard for New Yorkers’ votes. Dominicanos USA is phone-banking, door knocking, and sending out mail notifications, in order to ensure that the Dominican-American community is amped and mobilized.

Using our database of the nearly 100,000 New Yorkers we have registered over the past two years, Dominicanos USA has been able to knock on over 25,000 doors and make close to 30,000 phone calls in just one week!

The Dominican-American community of NYC is so excited that 90% of the voters we’ve spoken to at the door have said that they plan to go out and vote on Election Day! Check out our team hard at work in the field and on the phones in the gallery below.

WHAT WE DO:

Our team has been informing voters about the election date, the location of their respective polling site, the hours that polls will be open, and even how to get there. Voters are really excited and grateful to receive this information in their language from trusted community leaders at Dominicanos USA!

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Building a culture of civic engagement takes effort from all members of the community, so if you want to make sure that the Dominican-American community is represented in the upcoming New York State primary there are a few things you can do.

First, make sure you’re able to go out and vote yourself! Visit our Voter Corner and check your New York State Voter Registration status, and your poll site location.

Second, tell every New Yorker you know to go out and vote that day too! If anyone is unsure about their voter registration status or voting location, they can call our New York Office at 718-665-0400 for assistance.

Third, remember a few basic facts: Election Day is Tuesday April 19, 2016 and polls will be open from 6AM to 9PM. In order to vote you must be registered with one of the two parties holding primaries that day.

Dominicanos USA will continue its work mobilizing the Dominican-American community for the NY presidential primary election and many more to come!
