National DirectorDUSA’s National Director, Eddie Cuesta, is a non-voting member of DUSA’s Board of Directors. He became a well-known activist in the community through his work with elected officials, NYC community boards, the 1980 Census, the Fordham University Hispanic Research Center, Governor Mario Cuomo’s Advisory Committee for Hispanic Affairs, the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone and local business development organizations. He has interned with the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE) as well as aided in the development of a micro-enterprise project seeking to empower Dominican and Haitian women living in the impoverished Batey Libertad, Valverde Province, Dominican Republic. In 2013, Mr. Cuesta worked as the student recruitment strategist for academic programs at the Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Worker Education School of Professional Studies at the City University of New York. He has been with DUSA since its its inception in 2014 and now serves as CEO.
